Study in Italy
Italian Studies has a very rich offering of study in Italy opportunities: five semester programs (of which one is full immersion) in Rome, Milano and Arezzo and a very unique summer studies program offered in conjunction with the Emory School of Medicine and the Emory School of Ethics. The former offers a nationally recognized medical humanities course: Medicine and Compassion recommended for all undergraduates considering a health focused career. All participating summer students are engaged in six weeks of intense and exciting interdisciplinary studies while traveling and exploring the whole country. Summer studies courses are in English as well as Italian and consequently are open to all college-level students from all accredited institutions. There are no prerequisites.
We recommend that you visit the following link on Emory's summer study abroad program.
NB: Only courses taken on Italian Studies semester/summer programs in Italy may apply towards major or minor credit. No credit is granted for non-Italian Studies programs. Please contact program director with any questions.

The Office of International and Summer Programs is dedicated to fulfilling Emory College's commitment to internationalization through study abroad. In collaboration with Emory faculty, the OISP Study Abroad Advisors develop, promote, and administer programming for undergraduate students that encourages both intellectual and personal growth through challenging scholarship and cultural immersion. OISP Office services support students and faculty before, during, and after the study abroad experience in order to ensure that study abroad is an essential part of an Emory College education.
